ABOUT THIS COURSE
This hands-on course provides workers with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely climb structures, utilize fall protection systems, and perform tower rescue operations. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of OSHA requirements, fall protection principles, equipment inspection, climbing techniques, and suspended-worker rescue procedures.
Through a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and extensive field exercises, participants will develop confidence in the proper use of climbing and fall protection equipment while reinforcing safe work practices. Emphasis is placed on hazard recognition, pre-job planning, communication, and the critical decision-making skills required when working at height.
Rather than relying solely on classroom lectures, this course incorporates realistic climbing and rescue scenarios that allow participants to apply concepts in a controlled environment. Participants will practice rescue techniques and explore multiple methods of performing rescues based on the specific circumstances encountered in the field. This experiential approach improves retention, reinforces safe work habits, and helps prepare workers to respond effectively during emergency situations.
This course is beneficial for telecommunications workers, distribution and transmission lineworkers, contractors, and any employees who are required to climb structures or work at elevated heights.
