Protective Grounding & EPZ for Generation Facilities

Forest Fruit Ice Cream

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This experiential training course is designed to help electrical workers in power generation facilities understand and apply the principles of protective bonding and grounding and Equipotential Zone (EPZ) protection.

The course is appropriate for electrical workers, maintenance personnel, operators, technicians, supervisors, and safety professionals working in hydroelectric, wind, and associated generation facilities. Participants explore how electrical systems can become energized, how current travels through grounding and bonding systems, how hazardous voltage differences develop, and how an effective equipotential work zone can reduce worker exposure.

A variety of demonstrations, tabletop models, discussion, and hands-on exercises are used throughout the course. This allows the training to be tailored to the electrical systems, work practices, equipment, and experience level of each group. Rather than relying primarily on lecture or engineering theory, the course emphasizes practical understanding and field application.
