First Contact: Minimum Approach Distance & Arc Flash

Forest Fruit Ice Cream

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This hands-on electrical cultural exploration of cover-up engages participants to properly identify hazards associated with voltages present in the workplace. It requires participants to employ second order thinking skills as well as develop a recognition of vulnerability, self-awareness about cultural bias, and constructive curiosity. After determination of hazards, this course will examine the various means of utilizing industry standard dielectric materials, techniques for creating physical guarding, and the natural limitations of both methods of undesirable human/voltage contact.

This course will acknowledge inherent dopamine deficiency in the process of using cover well and the intermittency of consequence. By utilizing examples and hands-on exercises this course reframes risk assessment, and helps participants learn to protect themselves from electrical contacts, normalization of risk, and cultural degradation, all of which are hazardous to people in the trade.
